How to delete your account in the mobile app

The fastest and most direct way to delete your GoGo account is directly from your authenticated mobile app:

  1. Open the GoGo app on your Android or iOS device.
  2. Tap on your Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Scroll down to Account Settings and select Delete account.
  4. Review the warning information and confirm your identity with your wallet PIN or biometric prompt.
  5. Confirm your deletion request. Your account will be immediately signed out and scheduled for deletion.

What is deleted vs. what is retained

In compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and relevant financial regulations issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), here is an exact breakdown of what happens to your data when you request deletion:

Permanently Deleted (within 30 days)
  • Your profile details (display name, username, bio, avatar)
  • Saved delivery addresses and location favorites
  • Active login sessions and push notification device tokens
  • In-app buyer–seller chat messages
  • Call history logs and temporary diagnostics
  • Marketing preferences and email subscription lists
Retained (as required by Law)
  • Financial & Wallet Ledgers: Transaction records, payments, and settlements are retained for at least 5 years after account closure per CBN and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • KYC Records: Identity verification documents (BVN/NIN verification audit records) are retained for at least 5 years under statutory AML/CFT compliance mandates.
  • Dispute Records: Any unresolved chargebacks, ongoing fraud investigations, or regulatory inquiries.

Account deletion requests submitted through the app or online are processed and completed within 30 days.
